Usability & accessibility testing

Usability and accessibility testing is a fundamental component to (almost) every project completed by Conversant Studios. From simple paper tests and card sorting to more complex lab and eye tracking testing, our wide range of tests can cater for just about any budget.

The process

1. What is going to be tested

The first step in the process is to establish what needs to be tested and what we’re trying to achieve by performing these tests. For example, are we going to test specific functions objectives and scenarios on the site or are we going to test more general concepts across the site.

2. Where will the test take place

Depending on the objectives defined in the first step, the actual tests can take place in a number of locations from the Conversant Studios offices, to a cafe or the testing lab.

3. Gathering some test subjects

Gathering and screening for a good sample of test subjects is one of the most important  functions Conversant Studios performs in the testing process.

4. Performing the tests

Depending on the objectives defined in the first step, the actual test can range from a casual conversation over some rough sketches to a comfortable seat in a control room watching the subject navigate your site.

5. Collating results and making recommendations

Separating the wheat from the chaff of the raw data collected during the interviews,  Conversant Studios will compile a useful and readable report that will feed into the next phase of the site.
